The ThermoCharger System represents E-Tech’s newest weapon in the battle against high fuel costs. The design includes a series of conventional heat exchangers arranged to maximize boiler efficiency and reduce fuel costs by 10% or more. The system begins by lowering feedwater temperature from the deaerator — for example, from 228°F to approximately 150°F — using treated but not yet deaerated water. This could be process water for the plant or boiler make-up water with little or no condensate return. Once cooled to about 150°F, water from the E-Tech ThermoCharger is fed to the boiler system through a traditional economizer (assuming one is in place), augmented by a secondary economizer, if needed, to capture additional heat. Finally, under certain operating conditions, a condensing economizer may be used to complete the fuel savings.
